The Tx-IRI (vehicle-mounted non-contact road surface profiler) is a vehicle-mounted device that measures the road surface profile and IRI (International Roughness Index) simply by driving with the sensor box attached under the vehicle floor.
The sensor box contains two laser displacement sensors and an IMU (inertial measurement unit), which detect the road surface gradient with high accuracy. At the same time, the vehicle position is determined from GNSS data and vehicle speed pulse input. Through software processing, the device calculates the profile and IRI linked to positioning coordinates and distance data.
This product has been approved as a New Technology Utilization System by the technical review committee of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) and is listed in MLIT's
"Performance Catalog of Inspection Support Technologies" (in Japanese).
